A church music service in the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Salmünster was announced in the parish service order. However, this turned out to be a big surprise for Norbert Ross, the long-time director of the church choir.
Salmünster – Pastor Michael Sippel honored Norbert Ross because he has been a conductor for 40 years. The numerous visitors to the service in the Salmünster parish church experienced an impressive end to the Pentecost festival. Common prayers, a psalm by Hans-Dieter Hüsch and, above all, special songs performed by the St. Peter and Paul choir, accompanied by the band “Klanglust” under the direction of Ross, could be heard in the sun-drenched church.

Towards the end of the service, parish council spokesman Bernd Heil sent Ross to the pew. Karoline Münzel took over the conducting for him. Heil and Pastor Sippel then praised the choir director's work and thanked him for his tireless efforts.
At the end of the special musical devotion, the numerous church visitors also acknowledged Ross' work and the choir's performances with long-lasting applause. (lis)
