Unbelievable tragedy!
Two twelve-year-old cyclists died after a serious traffic accident in Dinslaken, North Rhine-Westphalia. A 47-year-old driver left the road on Wednesday morning for an initially unknown reason and hit three cycling students, each aged twelve, as the police in Wesel and the Duisburg public prosecutor's office announced.
Only one of the three children is still alive
On the narrow street in front of a high school, a 47-year-old woman lost control of her car and drove into a group of three boys who were apparently on their way to class on bicycles. Two of the twelve-year-olds were injured so badly that they later died in hospital.
The third, also a twelve-year-old boy, escaped with minor injuries. The driver is seriously injured. A spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office in Duisburg initially did not want to provide any information about whether she could now be questioned.

The trip ended in three destroyed cars in the parking lot
In the tragic accident shortly before school started at 7:45 a.m., the driver was obviously not driving slowly. She first collided with the boys, then her car crashed into three parked cars and caused them significant damage, a police spokesman said.
In addition to the police, the public prosecutor's office quickly became involved in the investigation. A specialized accident investigation team examined the scene of the accident. Nothing was initially known about the possible cause of the tragic incident. According to the current status, there is nothing to suggest that the act was intentional, it was said at the scene of the accident. According to dpa information, an internal emergency could have been the cause of the accident.

The city on the Lower Rhine is shocked. Eyewitnesses at a kiosk near the scene of the accident at the school should have seen the accident. The police said they were receiving psychological care. The initial report came from a police officer who was directing traffic at the intersection.

“This is terrible news from Dinslaken. Two children were taken from their lives on the way to school,” said North Rhine-Westphalia Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU). “According to our current information, due to a tragic accident. From one second to the next, nothing is as it was for the families. My deepest sympathy goes out to you.”
NRW Schools Minister Dorothee Feller (CDU) was affected. “We will support the schools with everything we can,” said Feller to the German Press Agency. School psychologists are deployed at schools.
“What happened in Dinslaken today is terrible. Losing a child is the worst thing for parents,” explained Feller. She mourns with the families, friends and acquaintances and everyone at the affected schools. (cko)
