Update from May 20th, 11:41 a.m.: The missing 88-year-old woman was found with the help of a police helicopter. On Wednesday, May 20th, around 10:45 a.m., she was found between Friedewald and Malkomes. According to the East Hesse Police Headquarters, the senior citizen is currently receiving medical care and is doing well given the circumstances.
Search operation ends happily: missing woman found
The police launched a public search call on Tuesday evening after the woman did not return from a walk to a senior center in Friedewald.

Friedewald – The police are publicly searching for an 88-year-old woman who has been missing from a senior center in Friedewald since Tuesday afternoon.
The resident did not return from a walk around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th and, according to police, is probably unable to orientate herself. As the East Hesse Police Headquarters reports, all search measures so far have been unsuccessful.
Another missing person case in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district was recently solved. A missing 20-year-old woman emerged safely after a short time.
