Fulda – On Saturday night (May 9th), a patrol from the Fulda police station noticed a white Audi A6 on Weserstrasse around 1:45 a.m. When the officers tried to stop the driver on Weichselstrasse with a stop signal, the man instead accelerated and drove away at high speed.

He left the road, drove through a grass verge and damaged the perimeter of a tree. After the vehicle came to a stop, the 27-year-old fled on foot, but was caught by officers and arrested. According to the police, the reason for the escape quickly became clear: the vehicle had stolen license plates and the driver did not have a vehicle license. Since there was also a suspicion that he might have been under the influence of alcohol, a blood sample was ordered.
