Fulda – The city of Fulda has announced renovation work on the roadway in Rabanusstrasse. From May 12th to 15th, the street at Universitätsplatz will be completely closed to traffic.
Drivers must be prepared for restrictions during this period. However, the Zentrum/Universitätsplatz underground car park remains accessible – access is possible at any time from the direction of Peterstor. Pedestrians walking between Bahnhofstrasse and Universitätsplatz will be guided around the construction site.
Renovation work in Fulda paralyzes Rabanusstrasse
Local public transport is also affected by the closure. The “Universitätsplatz” stop is not served in either direction. Instead, the bus routes take the route via Lindenstrasse or Heinrichstrasse. The “Peterstor” stop is also not served out of town, but is served as scheduled in the city center.
As a replacement, the following stops are available to passengers: In addition to the “Stadtschloss” bus station, users of line 1 out of town can use the “Marienschule” stop. For lines 6, 8 and 16, the “Brauhausstraße” stop out of town is an alternative, and the “Peterstor” and “Marienschule” stops in the city center are an alternative.
In general, Fulda is planning a total of 38 construction sites for 2026: The program was adjusted because of Hesse Day – the biggest restrictions come during the summer holidays.
