
The Point Alpha Foundation held a ceremony to commemorate the last border patrol 36 years ago. A new catering offering is also starting on the site.
Point Alpha – It has been 36 years since US soldiers last set out on a patrol along the inner-German border between Rasdorf and Geisa. On Friday (May 8th), the Point Alpha Foundation commemorated the service of the soldiers with the Last Border Patrol ceremony and a flag parade.
Point Alpha Foundation combines commemoration with new gastronomic offerings
A new gastro station will also be opening on Point Alpha on Saturday (May 9th) – the “Bar89” for visitors, hikers and cyclists. The offer includes non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. The bar is open until autumn on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The income flows into the foundation's charitable educational work. (hi)
