Adorf's publisher Helge Malchow read out a short story that the actor and writer had written shortly before his death. And his manager Michael Stark quoted Adorf's own farewell words: “Only when the time has come do we realize that we have thought ourselves immortal all our lives,” the 95-year-old recently wrote – and that he wanted to accept the end without complaining and without saying: “Already? Adorf also had an apartment in Munich, but he will not be buried in the Bavarian capital, but on the French Mediterranean coast in St. Tropez. Adorf's widow Monique Faye comes from southern France. The couple lived in Paris.
In addition to his wife Monique and his daughter Stella, who concluded her speech with the words “Thank you very much, Mario, thank you very much, Daddy – for everything,” celebrities such as Senta Berger, Günter Netzer, Veronica Ferres and David Dietl also came to the Church of St. Michael. Afterwards, according to media reports, we were supposed to go to a reception at the luxury hotel Bayerischer Hof – where Adorf once filmed perhaps his most famous scene by the pool for Helmut Dietl's series “Kir Royal”.
