When their son Jonah comes into the world, a nightmare begins for the family. A GoFundMe appeal for donations shows that Kiara Brokenbrough († 32) died on March 30th during the much too early birth – baby Jonah was actually not supposed to come until more than two months later. From one moment to the next, her husband Joel finds himself without his wife and now has to look after their baby alone.

According to the appeal for donations, the couple had just prepared to move from West Virginia back to California to build a new home with their offspring. Instead of anticipation, catastrophe followed. The little boy has been in the neonatal intensive care unit since then and is said to be making progress every day. An “unimaginable new chapter” is now beginning for Joel as a single father of a premature baby.
