The past week was hard, emotional and tearful for Nadja Benaissa (43). The fact that this was the case was less due to the good 25 points for the rumba – the “No Angels” singer was caught up in her feelings several times. She now talks to RTL.de about love and explains why Vadim is exactly the right dance partner for her!

Last week Nadja and Vadim impressed with a soulful rumba, and on Friday evening (April 24th) or in the seventh show they will dance a contemporary to the song “Crazy in Love”. Nadja explains: “It was a process. Last week I was supposed to dance the rumba – that was a bit of a foreplay. And during the week I noticed that something inside me had opened up again. I noticed that the door was open a crack again. Now it's time to let go.” While chief judge Joachim Llambi wished for even more “sizzle” after the rumba, the dance has already ignited new fire in Nadja – she is open to love again!

She has been single for about six years. “I'm actually happily single, my life is wonderful. I have a lot of great relationships in my life – whether in the family, friendships or at work, they are very empowering relationships, so I don't actually miss them that much.”

Nonetheless: Of all things, the “Michael Jackson Special” last week flipped a switch for her. “When we did this romantic dance to “I can't stop love in you,” I thought: Oh yeah, maybe it's quite nice after all.” At the same time, she makes it clear that she is not actively looking. “Love cannot be forced, love happens.”

Nevertheless, the fact is: The past few days have been stressful for her. This makes her dance partner Vadim all the more important to her; he gives her support in her emotional moments.
“He is a very balanced person and a complete professional who always has himself under control – this is all new for me.” Because it wasn't just because of her longing for a new love that she shed a tear or two. For the first time, she felt self-doubt. “Last week I really reached my limits. It was the first time I had a week where I asked myself whether I could do it.”
Nadja continues: “He did a really great job and also comforted me. Otherwise he just leaves me and gives me peace.” Because of course it is an unpleasant situation when you are so emotional. “I would always like to be the super professional. But looking back, it was probably a good thing that a few feelings came up because that way I was able to process them.”
Now she's looking forward to Friday evening! “Of course we would like to get 30 points and we hope we can do that!”
