After shots were fired during a police operation northwest of Hamburg, emergency services in Pinneberg are searching for a fugitive. A search for the person was also carried out at and in a hospital.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured
According to police, in the incident in Rellingen in the Pinneberg district of Schleswig-Holstein, the shots came from an officer's weapon. It has not yet been confirmed whether the person currently on the run was injured by the shot.

Tobias Köhler, Rellingen police, reports to RTL that the person fleeing is a dark-haired man in his mid-20s. A sniffer dog was used and a dragonfly (Hamburg Police helicopter). There were also two arrests during the checks. Further details are still unclear.
According to a dpa reporter on site, patrol cars could be seen around the clinic in Pinneberg. There were also a few police officers at the building. Some of them held submachine guns in their hands. Overall, there were no barriers by the police. The police are now reducing forces on site, said a spokeswoman. The operation at the hospital was ended. However, the search continues. However, the fugitive has not yet been found.
Ambulances in Rellingen had to drive to other clinics

A spokeswoman for the Regio Kliniken said that ambulances with acute cases should temporarily go to clinics other than the clinic in Pinneberg. There were no restrictions in the hospital itself.
