Shock for 65 people in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Your train breaks down on the open track after crashing into an overhead wire. A nerve-wracking rescue operation begins for the passengers. There was also a very similar incident on another train. There are injured people.
In Haan in the Mettmann district of North Rhine-Westphalia, an S-Bahn with 65 passengers came to a standstill on the open route after catenary damage and had to be evacuated. The fire department said the S-Bahn railcar drove into the overhead line not far from Gruiten train station on Sunday. The electricity left “clear traces” on the vehicle.
After Deutsche Bahn de-energized and grounded the overhead line, the S-Bahn passengers were able to be led outside a good hour after the accident. They were led around 100 meters along the railway line and then transported on with a replacement bus. The railway line was initially closed.
On Saturday, an overhead line on the railway line between Berlin and Munich tore and fell onto an ICE train, and this train also had to be evacuated. Two people were injured by broken glass from the train windows. (dpa/ajo)
