Barn fire in Schlüchtern-Breitenbach: Around 50 emergency services fought the flames and a liquid gas container had to be secured.
Schlüchtern – The barn of an agricultural property on Kressenbacher Straße in the Breitenbach district was on fire early in the evening on Wednesday (April 1st).

A large contingent of fire departments from Breitenbach, Schlüchtern-Stadt and Elm as well as the Red Cross, an ambulance and the police rushed to the scene of the fire. City fire inspector Werner Kreß counted around 50 emergency services. A team wearing respiratory protection gained access to the scene of the fire. The turntable ladder was used to extinguish the fire and cover the bricks at risk of falling.
An adjacent liquid gas container was secured and cooled and the flames were prevented from spreading to the residential building. Afterwards, a few embers still had to be extinguished. No statements can yet be made about the extent of the damage or the cause of the fire.
