The Schlüchtern police station is under new management: From Tuesday, Tilman Dierl will officially take over responsibility at Lotichiusstrasse. He follows Stefan Enders.
Schlüchtern – The 49-year-old has been working here for a few weeks, but now he has officially been given the management role. 30 years ago, after graduating from high school in September 1996, he began his studies to become a police officer, initially in Frankfurt and later continued in Wiesbaden. He then went to the riot police in Lich for two years. Dierl has been working continuously since 2001 Main-Kinzig district used.
Tilman Dierl is the new head of the Schlüchtern police station
For about 20 of those years he worked shift work and slowly worked his way up the career ladder. In the then stations Hanau I, Hanau II and Großauheim as well as in Bad Orb he worked as a patrol officer, deputy service group leader and service group leader. According to his own statement, a particularly drastic negative experience in his life was the racist attack in Hanau in February 2020, in which nine people with a migrant background were killed.
In 2024, the police chief inspector moved to the management of the Hanau I police station as a clerk. Since August 2025, the 49-year-old has been the acting head of the department in Schlüchtern.
Although the father of three comes from Brachttal, he is very familiar with the Bergwinkel. Private trips have often brought him here, for example to the cold marketto Ramholz, to the stalactite cave or to the Steinau Marionette Theater. In his free time, the police chief enjoys doing a variety of activities in nature – whether hiking, cycling, mountaineering or paragliding.
Schlüchtern police station has two patrols available
So now the career change to the Bergwinkel town. And here he finds optimal conditions on Lotichiusstrasse. The station has just undergone a state-of-the-art renovation and the staff has recently been increased, so now Two strips are continuously available around the clockwhich he sees as very useful given the size of the area of responsibility from Sinntal to Birstein. “Overall, a great development,” he summarizes. After the recent restructuring of the investigation team, the deployment of Thomas Walther as an “on-site police officer” is now very helpful. He spends a lot of time in public spaces and “close to the citizens”, for example in schools and kindergartens.
“With these improved framework conditions, we can be more proactive,” emphasizes Dierl. This can also be seen by the citizens because the patrols are on the streets more often, checking that everything is going well and having more time to talk to people.
What's more: In the past few weeks, officials have been increasingly carrying out preventive checks in public spaces, sometimes with considerable success. “In this way, we demonstrate the ability of the constitutional state to act and can counteract criminal offenses, disorderly behavior or dangers in a targeted and professional manner,” emphasizes Dierl. One of his main concerns is improving road safety. For example, he keeps an eye on the dangerous route between Steinau city center and the Marjoß district. Motorcycles are occasionally driven “excessively” there. That is why the speed in this area was recently limited to 80 kilometers per hour. In the future, “rumble strips” will also be installed on the road, which will additionally slow down road users.
According to his own statement, Tilman Dierl is starting his new job “enthusiastically and committed”, especially since he has many young colleagues at his side on site and therefore a staff base “with a healthy average age” at his side. And he praises this good team for their dedicated commitment to the safety of citizens.
