The good news: The leak test of the swimmer's pool was carried out over Christmas and has now been successfully completed. Tiling the floor and side walls can soon begin here. The test for the non-swimmer pool will follow shortly.
A lot has happened in the heart of the bathroom in the last few weeks: The large technical room in the basement of the main building is now well filled with various pipes and filter systems – and that means a number of water connections. Ultimately, for example, in the “Children’s Paradise” area, each attraction must be supplied with its own line.
The complete filter system as well as the containers for dirty and rinse water are completed. Work on the technology for heating the water will begin these days. The eight meter deep steel walls will soon be pulled, which protected the main building at the entrance from the pressure of the side earth masses during the construction phase. The workers are also starting to fill in the large excavated areas around the swimming pools – little by little, of course, because the pipes that cross in many places have to be installed in a compacted manner.
Just a few steps away, tilers are currently ensuring the right flooring in the shower and sanitary area. The snack area is also taking shape. In the future, bathers will be able to take care of themselves at a large sliding window. An extra wide storage area in front of the opening offers enough space to safely store all the food you have purchased.
Partial use: Swimming should be possible at the start of the holidays
“We have successfully flipped the switch after the severe winter weather,” said Marc Schmidt. Now there is real momentum in the work again. “All the companies are on board,” emphasizes the project manager and praises the quality of the companies used, which – with the exception of the swimming pool specialist companies – all come from the region.
He expects there to be minor delays when the Schlüchtern outdoor pool reopens. The most recent plan was to put the entire complex into operation at the start of the summer holidays in 2026. Now he is talking about “trying to at least offer swimming at the start of the holidays”. What I mean is: The pools should then be opened.
