The CDU-Schlitz emerged as the clear winner from the local elections. At an election party, the party leadership looked back on a labor-intensive election campaign.
Schlitz – On the Tuesday after the election, numerous candidates, board members as well as friends and supporters of the CDU-Schlitz met in the pizzeria “La Gondola,” the CDU announced in a press release. In a convivial atmosphere, they reflected on the past few weeks of the election campaign and the successful election results.
CDU in Schlitz celebrates good local election results
The Christian Democrats not only successfully defended their absolute majority in the city council, but the overall result even increased to 52.17 percent. An honest look at the numbers shows the success in detail: The party was able to gain 2.8 percentage points in the city center including postal voters, and the bottom line in the districts was also an increase of 1.2 percent compared to the last election.
Top candidate Marius Kokel described the election evening as extremely moving. The fact that the citizens have once again and even more clearly entrusted the CDU with the absolute majority is a strong sign of trust and fills them with humility. His very first thanks went to the candidates who had shown their commitment. He also paid tribute to the core team in the background.
Mayor Heiko Siemon then spoke. He thanked the campaign team for their work over the past few months. The town hall boss was particularly pleased with his personal voting results, which catapulted him up to 8th place on the district council list.
At least three Schlitzer CDU members are represented in the Vogelsberg district council
In general, the outstanding performance at district level was a great reason to be happy. With over 100,000 individual votes, the Schlitzer CDU represents more than eleven percent of the district CDU's total vote share. With Heiko Siemon, Sonja Dickert and Hans-Jürgen Schäfer, Schlitz is already represented in the district council three times. It is very likely that after the district committee has been constituted, a fourth Schlitzer Christian Democrat, Alexander Altstadt, will join.
The CDU announces that the party committees will meet soon to coordinate the next steps for the new legislative period and to continue the work for Schlitzerland with full energy. (rsb)
