Netflix announced this on Friday. Under the full title “Barbara – Becoming Shirin David” – named after the German artist’s real first name – the rapper and entrepreneur invites her audience on an unusually personal journey through her career.

The documentary was produced by Leonine Documentaries. Michael Schmitt is responsible for the direction and screenplay. Jochen Köstler is the producer and Janek Romero is the executive producer. In terms of content, the documentary accompanies Shirin David in a crucial phase: Shortly before her 30th birthday last year and in the middle of preparations for her “Smart but Blonde” arena tour, the question arises as to whether Barbara – the woman behind the public image – is ready to reveal herself.
