The before and after pictures are astonishingExpensive versus cheap! This hyaluronic serum smoothes the best
Price versus effect – now we’re settling the bill!
Three women, three serums and six weeks of patience. Our testers Nicole, Kerstin and Petra want to know whether hyaluronic wrinkle serums really deliver visible results. The surprising thing is that it is not the price alone that determines success.
Before the test, the skin is examined closely
“There are wrinkles, there wrinkles, there wrinkles and I hope some product can help me a little.” With this wish, Kerstin starts our six-week hyaluronic experiment. Together with Nicole and Petra, she tests three anti-wrinkle serums from different price ranges. The range extends from drugstore products for six euros to pharmacy serums for 40 euros.

The test is accompanied by the dermatological beautician Hanane. Her most important advice is: “You should use the product regularly for four to six weeks. If your skin doesn't get any irritation, then the product is the right one.”
To ensure that changes can be measured later, each participant starts with a professional skin analysis. Hanane immediately notices something about Nicole: the structure and evenness of the skin are good, but “the small, fine lines around the eyes, we have two that are a bit deep”.
The most expensive serum ends up with Petra
Nicole tests the cheapest product in comparison. The serum contains 0.2 percent hyaluronic acid and copper peptides. Hanane explains: “Hyaluronic acid is naturally for moisture, peptides are for improving skin texture.” There are also important rules when using it. “For hygiene reasons, no contact with the skin, with the pipette, just let it drip onto the skin,” recommends the expert.
Kerstin gets the serum from the middle price range. Here the hyaluronic content is 1.5 percent. What's special: It combines high and low molecular hyaluronic acid. “Kerstin’s product has more hyaluronic acid, i.e. two different hyaluronic acids, one small molecular and one large molecular,” explains Hanane. Kerstin's first impression is positive: “Yes, it feels good because it absorbs relatively quickly.”

Petra tests the most expensive product in the field. Hanane basically confirms that she has good skin: “You actually have very good skin, combination skin, slightly dry, especially on the sides. And you can simply minimize the wrinkles by adding moisture.” In addition to hyaluronic acid, the serum contains other active ingredients. These are intended to smooth the skin, provide moisture and visually reduce wrinkles. Petra is also satisfied after the first application: “At first I thought it would be a bit much, that it wouldn't be absorbed so quickly, but now it's all gone. So I still shine a bit, but it feels good.”

The first changes appear after three weeks
During the test phase, the three women documented their experiences in a video diary. Nicole reports: “I don’t have any irritations or anything like that.” Petra comments: “It feels good and I also feel improvement in this area.”
And Kerstin draws an initial positive interim conclusion: “About half is gone and my skin definitely looks fresher.”

Even after six weeks, the participants remain optimistic. Nicole says: “It worked really well, the skin feels nice and soft and smooth.” Petra sticks to it: “I feel improvement.” And Kerstin thinks: “It definitely moisturizes the skin well and maybe a few lines of dryness are gone.”
The large evaluation is surprising
After six weeks we go back for a professional skin analysis. Have the wrinkles actually changed? Has the skin texture improved? And does price really play a decisive role in the end? With Petra you can see a difference at first glance. Nicole also discovers changes that motivate her even more.

Kerstin, however, experiences a surprise during her evaluation that she did not expect. But why do the serums affect the three women so differently? And which product ultimately delivers the most convincing results? You can see the results of the skin analysis and the before and after comparisons in the video above.
