A family of three died in a head-on collision between their car and a truck in Upper Bavaria. A police spokesman in Rosenheim confirmed that the three dead, aged 46, 44 and two, were a father, mother and their toddler.
Family dies after collision with truck
The accident occurred in the morning on federal highway 12 between Stammham and Marktl in the Altötting district, the police said. At around 5 a.m. the father crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons. The three occupants were trapped in the wreckage of the vehicle after the collision with the semi-trailer from Hungary and died at the scene of the accident. The Hungarian driver of the tractor-trailer suffered a shock in the accident, but was only slightly injured.

The family from Munich was on the way home, it was said. In the morning, the police reported an accident with several people injured. According to the police spokesman, the accident is currently being investigated by an expert. There has not yet been any further information about the cause of the accident.
