Visitors to the Hessentag in Fulda on Friday should pack a rain jacket and weatherproof shoes. According to meteorologist Oliver Reuter, the start of the state festival is literally a failure.
Fulda – Already in the course of Friday (June 12th) at the start of Hessentag in Fulda It will probably rain again and again. According to Oliver Reuter, longer dry periods are most likely between the morning and afternoon. However, visitors can expect heavier showers, especially in the evening. Or as the qualified meteorologist from Eiterfeld puts it: “It’s getting pretty wet” – alluding to the Fuldaer Hesse day-Motto “Foll Hessian”.
First rain, then sun: This is how the weather will be for Hessentag in Fulda
It will also be windy and even stormy at times. According to the meteorologist, this means that umbrellas in particular could only be of limited help and could even cause difficulties for visitors. The temperatures remain comparatively cool at a maximum of 18 degrees, possibly just under 19 degrees.
A wet and uncomfortable start is replaced by a much friendlier one Weather followed on Saturday (June 13). The rain is expected to largely subside on Saturday night. The reason for this is High “Falk”, which is spreading from the southwest and ensuring more stable weather.
Then Hessentag visitors can look forward to predominantly dry weather and occasional sunshine. At around 22 degrees, there are pleasant conditions for a stroll through the festival grounds, even if the wind remains noticeable and is sometimes gusty.
Summer values possible from the middle of the week
The forecast for Sunday (June 14th) is not yet entirely clear. “Although there is currently a lot to suggest a predominantly dry day, there could still be a few short showers,” said Reuter. The temperatures will drop slightly again to 18 to 20 degrees. In addition, the northwest wind remains a constant companion.
At the end of the first Hessentag weekend, there is already a glimmer of hope for all sun fans: “From the middle of next week, the temperatures could rise significantly,” says Reuter. According to the current status, values between 25 and 30 degrees are possible. However, it is currently not possible to reliably predict whether the heat will also bring thunderstorms.
