RhönEnergie's first fast charging station has found its way to Burghaun. It is now available there for charging electric cars, thereby strengthening electromobility in the region.
Burghaun – The fast charging station is located on Oberste Strasse in Burghaun in a central location: a leisure facility, the sports field and a supermarket are in its immediate vicinity. This means that the car can be fully charged while shopping or going for a walk, for example.
New fast charging station for better electromobility inaugurated
The initiator of the new charging station was Burghaun's mayor Dieter Hornung (CDU), who drives an electric car himself. “This is a big win for the citizens of Burghaun,” he said at the commissioning. The new charging infrastructure sends an important signal for sustainable and climate-friendly mobility in rural areas. According to his own statements, it was important for him to have a regional electricity provider as a partner, RhönEnergie.
Florian Michaelis, head of electromobility at RhönEnergie, also sees the expansion as extremely positive: “We are pleased to have further expanded our network of fast charging stations in the region in an important area.” He also thinks that Burghaun is a great example of how local and regional forces can make a difference together.
For the future, similar to Fuldathe charging network will be expanded even further. Mayor Hornung and RhönEnergie are already in the process of checking which other locations in the municipality of Burghaun could be suitable as charging options.
