Vogelsberg district – After the eventful Ascension weekend The German Weather Service warns of strong thunderstorms in eastern Hesse on Monday afternoon. The official warnings are currently valid until 2:15 p.m. in the Vogelsberg district and until 2:30 p.m. in the Main-Kinzig district. The weather remains changeable throughout Hesse. Further thunderstorms are possible locally until the evening.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there is a risk of strong thunderstorms with a warning level of two out of four. Lightning strikes, hail and heavy rain could occur. Falling trees and falling objects are also possible in isolated cases. The meteorologists also warn of rapid flooding of streets and underpasses as well as aquaplaning.
Lightning strikes are particularly dangerous – there is a danger to life. Drivers should adjust their speed and pay attention to possible water accumulation.
Further showers and thunderstorms could also develop in the Fulda region during the day. The German Weather Service recommends keeping an eye on current weather warnings.
