
Shock for a driver on the A66 in the Main-Kinzig district: previously unknown young people threw an object from a bridge onto his windshield. The police are investigating and looking for witnesses.
Gründau – A driver was shocked on the A66 motorway on Sunday evening (May 17th) when an unknown object hit and damaged his windshield. According to the police motorway station in Southeast Hesse, the man was traveling towards Hanau at around 8:45 p.m.
Throw from bridge onto A66: Unknown people escape on e-scooters
Shortly before the Lieblos junction, a previously unknown object hit the windshield of the car. The item had apparently been thrown from a bridge onto the road. The driver was uninjured in the incident. According to the police, the suspected throwers were five young people wearing dark clothing.
After the incident, they fled the bridge on e-scooters. The police are asking witnesses for information. Anyone who saw suspicious people on or near a bridge in the area of the A66 near Gründau on Sunday evening, especially in the area of the Lieblos junction, is asked to call (06181) 90100.
A few hours earlier, a BMW had also had an accident on the A66 in the Main-Kinzig district after a tire burst. The driver was coming from a BMW meeting when the rear tire burst on the highway in Hesse. The highway was temporarily completely closed in the north direction after the tire burst.
