You won't soon forget this trip!
Two students are stuck in a hotel room. The door is stuck and can no longer be opened, even the hotel staff can't do it. In what unusual way the two are saved.
Students use turntable ladders instead of stairs
The fire brigade rescued two students from a hotel room in Filderstadt, Baden-Württemberg, using a turntable ladder on Friday evening (May 8th) because no one could open the door. The two students, aged twelve and 13, initially informed their carers when they could no longer open the door. The hotel employees who were notified also failed to open the room and ultimately alerted the fire department.
With the children's consent, the emergency services then decided to rescue the child using a turntable ladder – because the two students were able to open the window on the fourth floor without any problems. Otherwise the firefighters would have had to force open the door; this would have been rather disproportionate since there was no acute emergency, explained a police spokesman.

The police assume there is a technical defect in the door. What exactly caused this initially remained unclear. (dpa/vho)
