Dana Diekmeier describes the situation to RTL very differently than her husband, especially when it comes to the timing of the new relationship.

She accuses her husband of not informing the public correctly: “He wants to save his clean image.” And further: “I won't allow tall tales to be told. I don't need to badmouth him, but that's the truth.”

At the same time, she emphasizes that she originally wanted to avoid a public escalation: “I actually didn’t want to make this all public.”

Allegations about the separation

According to Dana Diekmeier, the spatial separation of her and the family is said to have developed differently than he publicly portrayed. She says: “He moved out of our house six weeks ago, got together with his new wife four weeks ago, he’s known her for years.” Dennis Diekmeier reported in an RTL interview that he is currently living in the hotel.
Dana presents it differently: “He moved out at the end of March, stayed in the hotel for two weeks and then moved in with her.”

She also contradicts the claim that the new relationship only began after the separation: “He already met when he was still living with us.”

According to her, she also received repeated indications of a new relationship, which ultimately led to the separation.

For Dana Diekmeier, the situation was also very hurtful personally. “For me as a woman who supported him for his career for 16 years, this is a slap in the face,” she tells RTL. “I followed him around, did everything for him. To just be replaced is disrespectful.”

Burden on the family

The situation was particularly stressful for their children, says Dana Diekmeier. She describes major emotional effects within the family and speaks of conflicts in dealing with the separation.

“His children are deeply disappointed in their dad.” Their daughter Delani, who is seriously ill with cancer, also plays a central role in the family situation. Dana Diekmeier describes that there was no contact between father and daughter at times – in drastic words: “He has been lying to his children for months, Delani has no contact with him because he has lied to her several times.” Delani “begged” him to stay with the family. They would have argued.

“It’s about the children”

Despite all the accusations, Dana Diekmeier emphasizes that her children are the main focus for her. “I have other worries, I take care of my children. The well-being of my children comes first,” she says to RTL.de. Daughter Delani in particular needs the family's full attention at the moment. The 15-year-old, who is passionate about horse riding, has been battling cancer since February 2025 – a situation that has put a heavy burden on the entire family for months.

Dana Diekmeier also explains that despite the separation, she would have liked to have treated each other respectfully within the family – also with a view to her husband's new relationship.

RTL.de reached Dennis Diekmeier in the evening. Regarding the allegations, he says: “I understand that she is angry because I am already in a relationship again. However, the fact is that we only really got to know each other after the separation. I do not want to and will not get involved in a war of the roses and I will not comment further on that!”
