A week after the Hesse Championships, the dancers of TSG Künzell also won the German Championships. The students even secured the title. Next up is the European Championships.
Künzell – On Saturday evening (April 25th), the main class set off in a large bus with the support of the show dance team, a leisure group from TSG Künzell. The weather was so good that all preparations, such as make-up and hairdressing, could take place outdoors. This immediately created a relaxed atmosphere and a good mood.
The Kalbach sports and leisure center in Frankfurt was completely sold out that evening. The small group presented and secured the first runner-up German championship title in 2026 in the show small group category for TSG Künzell with a score of 2222232.
TSG Künzell wins the German Dancing Championships
Hannah Rützel wanted to build on this achievement in the Schau Solo. With a rating of 4444434 it wasn't enough for a place on the podium, but Hannah Rützel will still take part in the European Championships as she had already secured her European Championship ticket at an international tournament in Nistelrode/Netherlands.
The dancers returned home late at night, but the youngest ones continued early the next morning. Students and young people traveled together in a coach to support each other. The students entered the competition as Hesse champions and national ranking winners – and what followed was indescribable: German champions!
The joy knew no bounds. Beaming faces, tears of joy and exuberant cheers – all the hard work of the past few weeks paid off in this one moment. A short time ago the team had to struggle with changes and the absence of the main cast due to illness, but now the team was able to compete with everyone healthy and happy.
With an impressive score of 1122111, they left no doubt that they wanted to be at the top that day – and that's exactly where they belong. But this day wasn't just something very special on stage: the success was then duly celebrated in bright sunshine. Of course, a joint trip to McDonald's within walking distance couldn't be missed.
Fighting spirit at the German championship
After a short lunch break, the youth duo continued. Mathilda Winheim and Ameliia Yushko fought their way to a German championship for the first time – a first for the two of them in this discipline. Coach Hannah Rützel said: “We are just incredibly proud to be here at all.” Coach Luisa Schultheis added: “With this strong starting field, being there is everything.”
The two went on stage with exactly this attitude – with the aim of having fun and enjoying the moment. With a rating of 5466476 they took sixth place and can now call themselves the sixth best show duo in Germany. They were completely surprised and overwhelmed, especially by the two 4-point ratings.
But there wasn't much time to breathe: after less than an hour, the two were on stage again – this time together with 15 other dancers in the youth show character. This was also about qualifying for the European Championships at the weekend in Belgium.
The fighting spirit was clearly noticeable. The judges sat very close to the stage, which meant that expression and energy were even more important. With a score of 5446445, the youth took fourth place at the German Championships. And qualifying for the European Championships came on top of that. So all three groups as well as soloist Hannah Rützel are now traveling to Belgium for the European Championships from Friday (May 1st) to Sunday (May 3rd).
Not until September 2025 TSG Künzell thrilled with their show “Hotel Royal” in the Künzell community center on two evenings.
