Two graduates of Fulda University have been awarded the Friedrich Dessauer Foundation Prize from the VDE Rhein-Main for their theses.
Fulda – The VDE Rhein-Main (Association of Electrical, Electronic and Information Technology) awarded two graduates with the Friedrich Dessauer Foundation Prize at a graduation ceremony at Fulda University. Moritz Gärtner received the award for the best master's thesis, Lorenz Auth for the best bachelor's thesis in the electrical engineering and information technology department.
Matthias Hahner from the RhönEnergie Fulda Group, who is responsible for the VDE Rhine-Main Region East at the Fulda base, presented the successful graduates with certificates and trophies. “We congratulate you on your achievement and are pleased to honor you with this special award. Keep it up – also in the spirit of Friedrich-Dessauer,” said Hahner at the award ceremony.
Two students from Fulda University receive foundation prize
Moritz Gärtner was honored for his master's thesis entitled “Development and evaluation of sustainable PFAS-free alternatives for PTFE elastomer seals in the automotive industry”. The prize is endowed with 1000 euros. Lorenz Auth received 500 euros for his bachelor's thesis on the topic “Retrofit and optimization of the test bench for measuring material pressure regulators”.
Both award winners also received two years of free membership in the VDE. The foundation award commemorates the radiologist, physicist and entrepreneur Dr. Friedrich Dessauer, who lived from 1881 to 1963. Dessauer devoted most of his life to researching radioactive rays, especially their applicability in medical technology.
With the annual award of the prize, the non-profit technical and scientific association wants to motivate young talent and set an example for the social importance of engineers and their work. Just recently a computer science student had this Fulda University's ideas competition won with an innovative learning concept.
