Milano was bullied in his childhood

The fear runs deep!
There's one thing you don't expect from someone with as much stage experience as singer Milano: a blackout. And yet it happened last Friday (April 17th) on “Let’s Dance” show 6. In the middle of the Cha Cha Cha, the singer forgets his steps. The reason: Despite his stage experience, the singer is plagued by fears. You can see the moment of the blackout and what Milano says about his childhood in the video.

“As a small child I did a lot of art, I danced and sang a lot,” says Milano in our interview. At the age of “eleven or twelve” he “posted” his first music video “on Facebook”. But instead of encouragement, Milano expected a completely different reaction: “The next day the whole school kind of really laughed at me”the singer remembers. Not the only bad experience Milano had as a child.

His classmates would have Milano not just laughed at because of his music. The young student was also made fun of because of his size – he was teased and even beaten.

But he didn't let that get him down: “At some point I compensated for that with other things, like I was always very nice, very funny.” Successfully! Today Milano stands on big stages, performs in front of thousands of people and is applauded.

But every now and then the old insecurity makes its way to the surface again. Just like last Friday, when the excitement overwhelmed and paralyzed Milano for a brief moment.

So that other children don't have to go through what Milano experienced in his childhood, he is now using his fame to fight bullying. Together with entertainer Tom Lehel he is for the “RTL – We help children” campaign “Stop bullying! Strengthen children” on the way. You can see how Milano teaches children to be kind to each other in a fun way in the video above.
