In Burghaun, unknown perpetrators tried to steal a Porsche – but the vehicle owner was prepared. The thieves had to leave without having achieved anything.
Burghaun – Unknown people tried to steal a Porsche in Burghaun on the night of Tuesday (April 14th). According to the police, the perpetrators entered the courtyard of a single-family home on Berliner Strasse around 4:30 a.m. Their destination: a Porsche parked there with a keyless go system. They used technical equipment to try to receive the radio signal from the car key and thus steal the vehicle.

But the calculation didn't work out. The vehicle owner had stored his key in a special signal-blocking box. Since the perpetrators could not receive a signal, they aborted their plan and left the yard in an unknown direction.

- Before purchasing a vehicle, consider the safety aspect of the Keyless Go system and deactivate the system if possible.
- Never store the key near the house or apartment door; the distance to the vehicle should be as large as possible.

- It is essential to carry out a self-test: The vehicle must not open if the shielded key is held directly next to the vehicle door.
