A parked Mercedes caught fire in Kerzell early on Wednesday evening (April 15). The fire spread to an adjacent house and a barn.

Eichenzell – The car – which fortunately no one was sitting in – was standing on a farm on Marienstrasse when the flames broke out. Fire crews and a police patrol were quickly on site. According to the police, the vehicle was largely burned out and the nearby barn was also affected.

Torsten Gröger, community fire inspector for the community of Eichenzell, confirmed that the fire spread to both the house and the barn. The emergency services are currently busy extinguishing the fire and the vehicle that caught fire is still being extinguished.

Gröger expects the work to be completed around 7 p.m. A total of 30 emergency services are on site. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
