No matter whether it's an airplane toilet, a subway toilet or the locations in five-star hotels: Thomas checks hygiene, equipment, temperature, atmosphere and design – and awards tough points!
But how did this bizarre mission even come about? Thomas, who actually works full-time as a management consultant, reveals: “The Bowl of Truth actually came about through a bet with my son.“To prove to young people that anyone can become a TikTok star in the near future, the entrepreneur is opening his own account. His content was created by chance on vacation when Thomas filmed and rated a thermal bath toilet on Lake Constance for fun.

To win the bet – with a stake of 20 euros – Thomas needed 1,000 views and 50 likes within eight hours. But the next day his TikTok account shows a completely unexpected picture: 250,000 views and 10,000 likes! “I wouldn’t have expected it,” tells us son Noel, who is also dad’s biggest critic.

“I've seen worse in public areas,” says the toilet tester, who says he is still traumatized by the public toilet at Frankfurt Central Station. “Much better than expected. It was actually, I would say, even a seven to eight out of ten bowls that I would give“, reveals Thomas.

The Munich mission continues: Thomas was already undercover at El Gaucho. Will his rating change on the second visit? “In terms of design, you have one of the most beautiful toilets in Munich,” the toilet critic praises the restaurant manager. But there are also points of criticism: “Well, the toilet heating isn't on and there's a bit of music. You have music everywhere. But I missed it down there.” After all, a ten-point rating requires more than just a clean and attractive toilet!
“Well, if it's ten out of ten, then everything really has to be perfect. Well, that's the hygiene aspect, the cleanliness, the smell. I love background music. So that's very, very important for me. I can relax extremely well there,” the toilet critic explains his evaluation criteria.
