A lane change on Autobahn 66 led to a collision between two cars and a complete closure of the Frankfurt direction.
Bad Orb – As the police report, the accident occurred on Monday afternoon (April 13th) on the A66 between the Bad Orb and Gelnhausen junctions. According to current findings, a BMW and a Toyota, both traveling towards Frankfurt, collided – presumably as a result of changing lanes.

The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries as a result of the impact and was taken to a hospital, police report. Both vehicles were no longer drivable and had to be removed from the scene of the accident by towing services. The highway was completely closed in this area for around 45 minutes.
There is currently no specific information available about the amount of material damage caused. Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the Südosthessen police motorway station on (06181) 90100.
Recently, a spectacular accident on the A66 made headlines: The Firefighters found an Audi six meters below the highway. The driver was thrown out of the car.
