
A turning maneuver ended in a serious collision. While a woman was being flown to hospital, extensive damage was caused to the vehicles.
Alsfeld – Rescue workers and the police were called to a serious traffic accident on federal highway 62 between Eifa and Lingelbach at around 1:27 p.m. on Saturday afternoon (April 4th). A rear-end collision left one person injured and caused significant damage.

A 55-year-old driver from Berfa was driving her Dacia Duster from Eifa towards Lingelbach. When she wanted to turn onto a farm road in the direction of Berfa, an accident occurred: a 41-year-old man from Alsfeld, who was following, noticed the maneuver in his VW Caddy too late for reasons that are still unclear and crashed into the Dacia.
The passenger in the Dacia suffered injuries in the collision. The “Christoph 28” rescue helicopter was requested to provide rapid medical care and further clarification and flew the patient to a clinic. According to initial findings, the other occupants of both vehicles escaped with shock and remained uninjured.
The force of the impact was so great that the Alsfeld VW Caddy was a total economic loss. The vehicle had to be towed away. What's particularly bitter is that the driver had only purchased the car a month ago. The police estimate the total damage caused to be around 10,000 euros. During the rescue and recovery work, there were temporary traffic delays in the area of the B62.
