Unique in Germany: 85 percent order rate for fiber optic expansion in Sinntal. The excavators are now moving into six more districts.
Sinntal – Broadband Main-Kinzig GmbH gave the starting signal for the second phase of the fiber optic expansion in Sinntal with a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. After seven districts have already been connected to the fast network or are under construction, the rest are now following suit.
Sinntal is investing in the future: fiber optic expansion is making progress
Broadband Main-Kinzig GmbH is already active in Altengronau, Breunings, Jossa, Mottgers, Neuengronau, Sannerz and Weiperz. The The first district to be connected to the super-fast network by Broadband Main-Kinzig GmbH is Jossa. The excavators are now also moving into Schwarzenfels, Oberzell-Ziegelhütte, Oberzell, Weichersbach, Sterbfritz and Züntersbach. In total, more than 70 kilometers of fiber optics will be laid in the community. The work is scheduled to be completely completed in spring 2027.
Fiber optic orders have already been received for a good 85 percent of all buildings. “That’s a really good rate,” said Broadband Managing Director Simone Roth. Chairman of the Supervisory Board Jannik Marquart classified the numbers: “No other fiber optic expansion project in Germany has received such great popularity.”
Sinntal's mayor Thomas Henfling (independent) was pleased with the nationwide supply: “Without exception, everyone who wanted a connection had the opportunity to order one here in Sinntal.” The infrastructure project is incredibly important for private individuals and companies alike.
Free fiber optic network as an investment in the future
District Administrator Thorsten Stolz (SPD) emphasized the importance of the free expansion, especially for rural areas. “Private providers generally do not expand here. Without the use of Broadband Main-Kinzig GmbH, many places would be neglected.” Of the total of around 270 million euros that are flowing into fiber optic expansion across the district, more than 70 million euros are allocated to Sinntal, Steinau an der Straße and Schlüchtern alone. “This is a very clear commitment to the future of our communities and a strengthening of the residential and economic location,” said Stolz.
The company Axians Rhön-Montage, commissioned by Broadband Main-Kinzig GmbH, is currently carrying out the house inspections. These are extremely important, explained Roth, so that the civil engineering company knows exactly where the homeowners want the fiber optic cable to be routed into their building. The expansion is being financed with federal and state funding as well as a contribution from the district.
Finally, Mayor Henfling said: “We have been working in a trusting and harmonious manner with Broadband Main-Kinzig GmbH since day one. I am convinced that this will continue until the last day of the fiber optic expansion here in Sinntal. I am very pleased that things are now continuing.”
