
A nighttime mission in Fulda caused a stir. The fire brigade and police responded because of suspected dangerous goods. But the all-clear came quickly.
Fulda – On the night of Tuesday (March 24th), the control center in Fulda alerted the rescue workers at 12:18 a.m. with the operational keyword “Danger 1 small,” informed the East Hesse police headquarters. The location was the turning point on Hermann-Muth-Strasse, near the Fulda branch of the forwarding company random.
Dangerous goods alarm in Fulda: Fire brigade on a large scale
The fire department initially feared that dangerous goods might have escaped. There was therefore extensive use in the Fulda industrial area. The police spoke of a large contingent. “In order to exclude any danger to the population and the environment, the affected area was immediately cordoned off,” said a police spokesman.
Ultimately, the fire department probably responded with five vehicles. The police supported the security measures on site. Fire department specialists took a closer look at a loaded truck from which the suspected danger posed. “After a thorough check, the all-clear was quickly given,” the spokesman continued.
“The liquid that leaked was just simple water that leaked from a fire alarm simulation system that was loaded on the affected truck. A leak of dangerous substances could definitely be ruled out.”
The police made it clear in their press release about the nighttime operation: “There was never a danger to people or the environment.” After the review was completed, all barriers were lifted. The operation ended after a short time without any further incidents.
