Also good to know: Over the course of a day, prices can vary between eight and ten cents per liter. “You will notice that between 8 and 9 in the morning during rush hour you will have the highest gas prices. It is cheaper, if you have the opportunity, in the afternoon. From 5 p.m. it gets cheaper until late in the evening.”explains Holger Bach from ADAC Württemberg. For a normal small car, you can save four to five euros per tank of fuel. So time is money.

But be careful: the price of fuel usually rises again from around 9 p.m. In addition, gasoline is usually more expensive on Fridays than on other days because more people fill up there. And: “Fuel is usually cheaper outside the motorways. It's worth getting off the motorway and using the navigation system to look for a petrol station.”says expert Bach.
Gasoline will probably remain expensive for the time being. The gas station association even expects that it will soon cost even more. One more reason to make sure you refuel smartly.
