
The Schlitzer Bürgerhaus should be free for events again from autumn. Eleven refugees currently live there and apartments are now to be found for them.
Schlitz – Mayor Heiko Siemon announced this at the city council meeting on Monday. The However, the “Blue Room” will be kept free for possible new refugee assignments. A total of 36 refugees are currently living in the accommodation in Schlitzerland. Events should be able to take place again in the community center from autumn. Among others, the fair boys and the poultry breeding club had inquired, said Siemon.

Heiko Siemon also announced that he was elected to the board of trustees of the Eichhof Foundation in Lauterbach on December 7th last year. The city council also decided unanimously, with two abstentions from the FDP, to appoint an auditor for the 2023 and 2024 annual financial statements. In a non-public part of the meeting, it was decided unanimously, with three abstentions, to sell part of the property in Hahnekiez.
Since the meeting was the last before the local elections on March 15th, everyone thanked the mayor, the magistrate and the city councilors for the good cooperation over the past five years of the legislative period. City council leader Jürgen Dickert also thanked: “It was an honor and a great pleasure for me to be able to work for you and the city of Schlitz.” (dst)
