For the third time on Friday, March 13th, everything revolves around the nursing profession in the “Karl” in Fulda. The Fulda district nursing forum has attracted around 1,000 visitors in recent years.

Fulda – According to the organizers, 26 regional players in the industry invite you to workshops, lectures and a varied stage program – from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. everything revolves around career opportunities, further training and current developments in nursing. Anyone interested can find out more – regardless of whether they already work in nursing, are looking to enter the professional field or are caring for relatives.

The exhibitors include regional nursing facilities, hospitals, nursing schools as well as partners such as the Fulda University of Applied Sciences, who show what career prospects they offer.

“We are only a small house, but we offer many different work areas. Those interested can talk to our employees and trainees at the trade fair and get honest answers, for example about areas of activity, salary and working conditions,” says Laura Pappert, practice manager at the Herz-Jesu-Hospital, summarizing the advantages of the nursing forum. As she reports, many short applications presented at the trade fair later led to internships or permanent employment contracts.

Exchange café for caring relatives

Under the motto “Strong Together”, a café will be offered from 2 p.m. especially for caring relatives to exchange ideas together. Christina Marg from the care base provides information about services and offers in the area of ​​home care. In addition, nurses can exchange ideas with each other over coffee and cake in a relaxed atmosphere. The forum is also an important meeting point for the participating institutions themselves. Sarah Schlauß from the DRK, quality manager and member of the organizational team, particularly appreciates the exchange between the many providers who come together “under one roof” on this day. “Last but not least, the trade fair offers interesting further training opportunities for nursing staff and teachers who are already in the profession with various workshops, which are recognized as mandatory further training courses,” she says. Topics such as artificial intelligence, wound management and sustainable practical instructions reflected the current need for knowledge in nursing.

Workshops and lectures provide information about developments in nursing

“The nursing forum is a strong signal against the ongoing shortage of skilled workers and for the nursing profession,” emphasizes Deputy District Administrator and Head of Health Frederik Schmitt. According to his information, there will be a shortage of 310 nursing professionals in the Fulda district in 2024, measured in terms of supply and demand. “This number will increase in the coming years. The nursing forum has set itself the task of showing the whole picture and, above all, conveying the interesting and positive sides of the nursing profession,” Schmitt continued.

Teachers and nursing staff have the opportunity to book various workshops directly at the trade fair, some of which can be credited as further vocational training.
