Anastasia Maruster explains love between dance partners

You are not the FIRST!
In the history of “Let's Dance” numerous dance partners have also found each other privately as lovers. Several couples will also be there in the 18th season in 2026, some as lovers or married couples, such as Anastasia and Sergiu Maruster. Anastasia dances with Gustav Schäfer, her husband Sergiu supports her as a coach. The dancer explains the phenomenon of why dancers like to get together.

The most famous couples who fell in love on the RTL show include: Luca Hänni and Christina Hänni (Season 13) and exclusive presenter Rebecca Mir and Massimo Sinato (Season 5), who are now married. But professionals and celebrities don't always fall in love, sparks often fly even in the purely professional dance world. It's funny, that's what people like to say: Never fall in love at work. “Let's Dance” mood cannon Anastasia Maruster sees it differently!

She is taking part in “Let's Dance” for the second time this year, is a native of Moldova and has lived in Germany since 2017. She has been dancing since she was 6 years old and is now also a trainer for Latin and standard tournament groups. Anastasia now has to live in a long-distance relationship with Sergiu for 14 weeks. The two actually live in their hometown of Pforzheim, but now she is training with Gustav in Magdeburg. That's why the couple only sees each other on Fridays at the shows in Cologne. Anastasia says to RTL: “We have a short Easter break and the Fridays when we see each other, otherwise we talk a lot on the phone, also about the choreography.”

She will marry her dancing husband Sergiu in August 2024. Both have been successfully taking part in international tournaments and championships since 2017 and dancing for Moldova. They have been dancing together since 2017. The two are among the two best dance couples in the world and belong to the “Black and White Club Pforzheim”.

Anastasia thinks about the phenomenon of why sparks are so popular among dance partners: “It can't always work well. There are people who dance together for 20 years and nothing happens, and there are people who have been dancing and being together for a few months. It depends on how fate works with a man. Luckily we started dancing together and then we fell in love.”
