Fulda – The RhönEnergie Group in Fulda remains one of the 20 largest municipal energy suppliers in Germany. RhönEnergie is one of the three largest municipal utilities in Hesse. This is shown by a current ranking published by the trade newspaper ZFK according to a press release from RhönEnergie.

“We are pleased about this remarkable ranking. It shows that our company enjoys great support from customers,” says Martin Heun, spokesman for the management of the RhönEnergie Group. The ranking is based on the sales figures for 2024. With 1.198 billion euros, the RhönEnergie Group is in 17th place. That is an increase of one place.
According to the announcement, RhönEnergie is the only company among the top 20 municipal utilities that was able to increase its sales in 2024 compared to the previous year through organic growth.
According to RhönEnergie managing director Dr. Arnt Meyer the fact that more and more customers are choosing the RhönEnergie Group. The number of electricity and gas customers has been growing steadily for years. According to the announcement, the group wants to invest 360 million euros by 2030. The money will be used in particular to expand the electricity grid and… Renewable energy systems with 100 million euros each and flow into local public transport.
