For the 750th anniversary of the village, Engelhelms has set itself a sporting goal: by August 21st, 750 people should be motivated to take the German sports badge for SV Engelhelms.
Engelhelms – The Engelhelms village community wants to show how much movement, community and commitment there is in a small town. Engelhelms native and Bundestag member Michael Brand supports the campaign, which has the motto “Mensch Brand! – Move!” stands. The CDU politician invites 50 Engelhelms residents to a weekend in Berlin – including a visit to the Reichstag. This is intended to be an incentive for people who volunteer for Engelhelms, as well as participants who take the sports badge as part of the anniversary campaign.

But the real reward for the organizers is already obvious: a village that moves together. “The Berlin weekend is of course an additional incentive,” says the organization team. “But the focus is not on the effort, but on moving together. We want to motivate as many people as possible to become active – regardless of whether they are young or old, sporty or have had little training so far.”
And Engelhelms is already doing well: There are currently around 300 registrations for the sports badge. But there is still a lot to do before we reach the target of 750 participants. That's why the call is expressly aimed not only at Engelhelms residents, but also at people from the community of Künzell and the entire region. Anyone who takes the sports badge for SV Engelhelms can become part of the anniversary campaign.
Four dedicated women around Sabrina Bohl have undergone training specifically to receive the German Sports Badge. They regularly organize appointments at the sports field in Engelhelms, in Adolphseck, in the Rosenbad and in the castle park of Schloss Fasanerie. People from Engelhelms, Künzell and the surrounding area are already taking part – as far as Darmstadt and Frankfurt. What is particularly pleasing is the support from numerous local associations, which motivate their members to take part. The age range currently ranges from around 10 to over 70 years.
A special thank you goes to the team at Schloss Fasanerie. The organizers are in the fortunate position of being able to use the castle park for individual acceptances.
