A new Murot “crime scene” is to be filmed in and around Schlüchtern. In addition to Ramholz Castle, places like Elm and the Klosterrenterei are also being discussed. According to information from our newspaper, filming will take place in the next few days.

Schlüchtern – A new crime thriller from the well-known Sunday evening series “Tatort” is being filmed in the region, as our newspaper learned. The Hessischer Rundfunk (hr) is still keeping a low profile on the topic. In response to repeated requests from Kinzigtal Nachrichten, the station simply announced that it would probably issue a press release on the topic next week.

But according to the information available to our newspaper, filming will begin in the next few days for the new crime thriller, which will have the working title “Murot and Midsummer Night”. The name Murot refers to the chief detective Felix Murot, who is portrayed by the well-known actor Ulrich Tukur in the crime scenes produced by hr. In the films, he regularly solves cases for the Hessian State Criminal Police Office in Wiesbaden and investigates at various locations in Hesse.

So now the latest Murot crime scene will be produced in various locations in the Bergwinkel and neighboring regions in the coming weeks. According to information available to our newspaper, filming will take place again at Ramholz Castle, for example. Other locations should be in the Elm district and near Hohenzell. But the cameras will also be set up in the middle of Schlüchtern's city center – more precisely at the monastery pension office. A few months ago, the Hessischer Rundfunk had already put Hohenzell in the “Dolles Dorf” spotlight.

Overall, not everything is captured on film in Schlüchtern. Other filming locations include Büdingen, Waechtersbach and a swimming lake in Gemünden, Franconia. Another daytime shoot is planned in the Sinntal district of Sterbfritz. Finally, a photo is to be taken at a church in a district of the neighboring municipality of Flieden.

The crime scene with Felix Murot and his colleague Magda Waechter in the main roles is to be directed by Sebastian Marka. Erol Yesilkaya and Michael Proehl wrote the script. The Hessischer Rundfunk is relying on a trio that has already caused enthusiasm among Tatort fans: Marka has already staged episodes such as the Wiesbaden case “Long live the death”, the Munich high-profile “The Truth”, the Berlin milestone “Meta” and the Dresden shocker “Parasomnia”.

Yesilkaya wrote the scripts for these and several other high-quality episodes. Proehl, in turn, is responsible, among other things, for two Hessian crime novels that were well received by audiences, such as “Born in Pain” and “Because They Are Evil”. Most recently he also wrote the screenplay for “Murot and the 1000 Year Reich”.

Filming locations in Schlüchtern, Ramholz, Elm and Hohenzell – probably broadcast in 2027

As before, Hessischer Rundfunk is not releasing any details about the plot and cast of “Murot and Midsummer Night”. Only this much has been heard so far: A group called “Freie Erde” apparently plays an important role in the piece. Behind this lies a “national association”. The film is not expected to be broadcast until next year.

Filming in the region is scheduled to last until early July. It was learned that accommodation has already been booked for actors and team members in numerous places in the region.

Many years ago, Schlüchtern was the location for a crime scene crime film. In the 1970s, Klaus Höhne was the first investigator for Hessischer Rundfunk. From 1971 to 1979 he played Chief Inspector Konrad in eight cases at the Frankfurt crime scene. At that time, parts of an episode were also filmed in Ramholz Castle. At that time, the television team stayed in the “Zum Löwen” restaurant in downtown Schlüchtern.
