With its own pavilion, daily activities and extensive reporting, the Parzeller media group presents itself at the Hessentag as an active part of the state festival.
Fulda – About the plans for the Hesse day and goals speak to Torsten Bug, managing director of the marketing agencyheldenzeit, Thomas Kirchhof, deputy publishing manager, and Andreas Ungermann, deputy head of reporting and Hessentag representative in the editorial team of the Fuldaer Zeitung.
Mr. Kirchhof, how long have the media group been preparing for Hessentag?
Actually, it feels like it's been over two years. We started planning very early together with the city of Fulda and discussed intensively how we as a media group – both print and online – could contribute to making Hessentag a success.
Talks, photo station, quiz: The Parzeller media group at the Hessentag
Mr. Bug, how will Parzeller present itself at the Hessentag?
On the one hand, we are an official media partner, but we also want to be part of Hessentagsstrasse ourselves. That's why we have our own 10 by 10 meter pagoda right next to the Ferris wheel. This is an attractive location for us – also because of its proximity to Hessischer Rundfunk (hr). In a sense, a small media focus is created there. There will also be joint activities with the hr.
What awaits visitors in the pagoda?
We have a photo station where visitors can take souvenir photos and take them with them – branded with our media brands, of course. There is also a local love stall with regional products, literature and souvenirs. The book publisher will also be represented. There are also daily changing interview guests, a football quiz from Torgranate, presentations of our apprenticeships and changing campaigns from various brands from the media group, such as Rhön Magazine or “We love Fulda”.

What is your goal with this gig?
Our goal is for Hessentag to be a complete success. This only works together. We want to show that we as a media group are part of this region and stand behind Hessentag. You can also see this visually at the publishing house with banners and flags.
What is particularly important to the three of you?
To make the diversity of the media group visible. Many people know them Fulda newspaperbut you may not even know which other brands and companies are included.
Why should guests stop by the Parzeller media group?
Because our actions suit us. We didn't want attractions at any price, but rather things that really had something to do with our media group. That's why we don't have just any wheel of fortune or rides. The photo station, for example, connects beautiful memories with our media brands. The football quiz fits perfectly Goal grenade. Interviews with regional and national guests in turn contribute to our journalistic work. We want to show who we are and what we do.
Mr. Ungermann, what role does the editorial team of the Fuldaer Zeitung play during Hessentag?
The editorial team has actually been following Hessentag for years – already the first application for Hessentag 2021, which had to be canceled due to Corona. For us, Hessentag is not just a state festival, but also a local festival. That’s why we see ourselves as a partner to the region. There will be a large Hessentag supplement with around 60 pages, which will primarily have a service character. We also report daily on all channels – in the newspaper, online and on social media.
