Shortly before the relegation games for promotion to the association football league, the football department of the Neuhof sports club is badly shaken off the pitch. A large-scale raid by the police and public prosecutor's office in Neuhof and Flieden is directly related to the club's environment.

Neuhof – On Thursday morning (May 28th), officers from the East Hesse criminal police had already searched several properties in the communities of Neuhof and Flieden. Nine people were temporarily arrested. Upon request from torgranate.de the Fulda public prosecutor confirmed that The search warrants obtained also included the premises of a Neuhof sports club. In addition, there is a direct connection between the official measures and people who work for the association.

Raid at Neuhofer sports club confirmed by public prosecutor

Confronted with the police investigation, the SV Neuhof club management was not surprised, but tight-lipped. When asked, the board member Thomas Mahr explained: “I am hardly involved at all in these events and would like to refer to the head of the football department Alexander Bär and his deputy Michael Böhm. I don't know whether the allegations in the room concern SV Neuhof directly or a private individual.” Neither Bär nor Böhm were responsible for the editorial team Goal grenade available for comment until publication.

When asked, the public prosecutor's office confirmed that, based on current knowledge, there is a suspicion that a police officer is connected to the crimes in question. The investigators are currently keeping quiet about the exact background and role of the officer, as this is an ongoing investigation.

At the core of the investigation include violations of the residence law and forgery of documents. Five people – a 27-year-old woman and four men between the ages of 20 and 27 – were issued with a notice to leave the country by the immigration authorities. It is not known by when the people have to leave Germany. The Fulda public prosecutor's office left unanswered whether the alleged forgeries relate to identity documents in order to obtain official registrations or registrations with the association, citing the ongoing investigation.

It has not been confirmed whether some of the people who have been asked to leave the country are members or players of SV Neuhof. SV Neuhof has long been notable for its special squad structure: the club is increasingly relying on players from non-EU countries. A residency requirement in Germany is not a prerequisite for being eligible to play in a game organized by the German Football Association. The DFB regulates this explicitly in its playing regulations, which the Hessian Football Association in turn refers to in its playing regulations.

On Corpus Christi (June 4th) at 3 p.m., SV Neuhof will play the semi-final first leg of the association league relegation at TuSpo Grebenstein, and on Sunday (June 7th) at 3 p.m. the second leg will take place in Neuhof. Mahr explains: “As far as I know, relegation will be played.”
