
This step comes as a surprise. Marco Schlender is withdrawing his candidacy in the mayoral election on September 13th in Kalbach. He justifies this step with “personal and organizational” reasons.
Kalbach – “After careful consideration, I decided to my candidacy for the mayor's office in the municipality of Kalbach “To withdraw,” says the 52-year-old, who lives with his family in the Eichenzell district of Löschenrod. “This step was not easy for me,” Schlender continued.
“I would have liked to use my many years of experience in local government and my ability to approach people and work together to develop solutions for the benefit of the Kalbach community,” said the head of the Eichenzell community.

Ultimately, however, “personal and organizational reasons” made this step necessary, explains Schlender, without going into further detail. “I would like to thank all the citizens of the Kalbach community and my numerous supporters for the trust, the discussions and the constructive feedback that I have received in the past few weeks,” said Marco Schlender.
The decision was made in “mutual respect” and with a view to an orderly further election process.
The citizens of the municipality of Kalbach in the south of the Fulda district are called on September 13th to elect their mayor for the next six years. Next to the independent incumbent Mark Bagus also occurs Kalbach's chamberlain Marcel Kister. He is supported in his candidacy by the CDU.
