
The police in Lower Franconia are looking for the driver of a BMW who hit a dog in the Rhön. He then drove on without caring about the animal.
Wülfershausen – According to the police report, the accident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday evening (May 30th) on the B279 in the area of the entrance to Wülfershausen. The place is in Fulda-Neighboring district of Rhön-Grabfeld. As a witness reported to the police, a loose dog had crossed the road and was hit by a BMW.
BMW driver hits dog and flees scene of accident
The animal was injured and had to be treated by a veterinarian. According to the police report, the witness said that the driver initially stopped but then continued driving. It is unknown whether the vehicle was damaged as a result of the collision.
The police in Bad Königshofen are now investigating a suspected hit and run and are looking for further witnesses. Other road users are said to have noticed the incident and also stopped. These people in particular are asked to contact the police on (09761) 9060.
