Do bathing enthusiasts stay dry in Schlüchtern in summer? The Bergwinkelbad will be renovated over the summer holidays, the outdoor pool is not yet finished.
Schlüchtern – The press release from the Schlüchtern town hall is inconspicuous at first glance, but the effects seem immense for water lovers in the Bergwinkel: The Bergwinkelbad will be renovated over the summer holidays and must remain closed. However, the outdoor pool is not yet finished. No “splashing” in summer?
Two construction sites: Will Schlüchtern be left without a swimming pool in summer?
“I am not happy with the closure and hope that we can find a better solution,” says Schlüchtern’s mayor Matthias Möller (independent), when asked about the planned renovation of the pool. “Our goal is to ensure swimming operations in Schlüchtern and Hutten in summer,” he adds. There should definitely be a trial operation in the Schlüchtern outdoor pool at the end of the summer holidays. “We're working hard on this. But further funding received has changed the 'rules of the game' somewhat,” says the town hall boss.
During the trial operation in the new outdoor pool, which will probably still take place in a “construction site”, regular swimmers and families should be able to try out everything so that the city can “adjust and add one or two things” based on the feedback.
Möller thinks that the planned renovation of the Bergwinkelbad may have to be postponed again during the summer holidays: “We have another construction site tour at the weekend. Then we'll see what happens next and will provide detailed information in the coming week.”
The indoor swimming pool is closed on Corpus Christi, June 4th. The Hutten outdoor pool, however, is open. From June onwards, the Bergwinkel indoor swimming pool will be closed on Mondays; The pool is open Tuesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Last admission is one hour before the end of operations. Swimming closes 30 minutes before the end of operations, according to the press release.
