Glamour, Hollywood and then that cuddly appearance. Daniela Katzenberger (39) sits at the big charity gala by Dr. Afschin Fatemi suddenly appears at the dinner table in a bathrobe on behalf of the Umbrella Foundation. Behind it is a spontaneous idea from Cathy Hummels (38) – and a lot of heart.

Daniela Katzenberger in a bathrobe at a gala? This exact picture was now in Düsseldorf. At the Umbrella Gala Düsseldorf by Dr. Afschin Fatemi was all about glamor for a good cause. Actor Chris Noth – known as “Mr. Big” in “Sex and the City” – even brought a Gucci suit that he once wore in his role. This time the proceeds from the evening will help with a project in Bangladesh. The aim is to give children in particular access to good medicine.
Moderator Cathy Hummels spontaneously had a completely different idea, even if it was initially meant to be humorous. “What else can we do for a good cause?” she said in an interview with RTL.de. So the idea arose that some celebrities – specifically Jana Azizi and Daniela Katzenberger – could give their “last shirt”. The idea of spontaneously auctioning off the evening looks was born.
In addition to the “cat”, Cathy and Jana Azizi, Iris Klein also took part. Cathy summed up the moment wonderfully dryly: “Daniela has more or less taken hers off on stage and is now walking around in a bathrobe.” The effect? “As a result, we collected another 2,000 euros,” said Cathy. For her it was a “really cool campaign”.

The emotional story behind Daniela's dress
For Katzenberger, the dress had much more than just material value. “I bought the dress when I was bigger,” she told RTL.de on the sidelines of the gala. After her weight loss success, she eventually fit in. “That was my goal dress.” The fact that she gave it up anyway was a gut instinct.
By the way: Her look eventually landed on reality star Valentina Doronina. Daniela was visibly happy about that. “From blonde to blonde. I think that's fine.” She took the new dress with humor. “I’m sitting here in a bathrobe,” she said, and followed up with: “I’m telling you, it really is like a wellness event.” She can eat, nothing hurts, no one can see her tummy. For Cathy, too, the evening was more than glamor and flashlights. “For me it is always a matter of the heart to support when I can.” As a mother, she wanted to use her presence, reach and skills as a presenter to draw attention to important things.

Despite the serious message, the evening was allowed to remain light. “The topic is very difficult, but it can still be fun.” By this she meant the medical care that is still difficult in parts of the world, including Bangladesh. Nevertheless, we managed to integrate a certain fun factor into the evening. “Today we put a positive spin on a difficult topic,” said Hummels.
Meanwhile, Daniela experienced her own premiere. “I've been in show business for half of my life. I've never experienced that before,” she said about the gala look in the bathrobe. Her comparison was as fitting as the bathrobe: “I feel like Udo Jürgens.”
There really couldn't be more “cat” that evening.
