Shop in peace and quiet
Anyone who goes to IKEA on a Wednesday evening from June can look forward to a new shopping experience. Because the furniture chain then introduces a “quiet hour”. Here you can find out exactly what that means and in which stores you can also shop without the hassle and music.
That doesn't happen in this time frame
Ikea is introducing the “Silent Hour” nationwide from June. Every Wednesday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. people should have the opportunity to shop in a low-stimulus and stress-reduced way. This means that no music will be played in the branches during the two-hour time slot and no announcements that are absolutely necessary will be made. There should also be less noise, for example in the restaurant, and more consideration from employees and other customers.

The “Silent Hour” is introduced primarily for people who are sensitive to noises or many impressions. These include, for example, people on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, but also families with small children, older people or simply those who prefer quiet shopping.
