Hünfeld – Summer in the Konrad-Zuse town of Hünfeld sounds, shines and tastes: music fills the streets, festivals invite you to linger, encounters are in the air – a packed program for all generations in the summer of 2026 promises variety in the Haunestadt. Summer will be hot, for sure.
If you can't tell from the thermometer, you can definitely tell from the abundance of highlights that are waiting for all partygoers in Hünfeld's city center and will get the mood going. Have fun with the cultural snacks, Relaxed and sociable at the after-work partiesgames and fun for the children – there is something on offer in Hünfeld.
Summer 2026 in Hünfeld: culture, festivals and culinary highlights
Would you like a relaxed after-work drink, good music and a chat with friends on a warm summer evening in the middle of the city? There will soon be an opportunity to do so again: the after-work parties start on May 28th. Every Thursday from 5 p.m. there is a colorful program with drinks, snacks and music in Rathausgasse – from different hosts. The host on May 28th is Helmeke-Eventservice.
“Live without a band” provides the music, and various drinks and grilled specialties await visitors. Further dates are June 25th, July 23rd, August 13th and September 17th. There is evening entertainment on the opposite side of the town hall: The popular cultural snacks start the new season under the town hall arcades on Friday (July 17th)..
The first is by the jazz & blues band “Petite Fleur”. You can hear New Orleans jazz and blues from 5 p.m. Further dates are on Friday, August 21st and Friday, September 11th. “Experience Hünfeld emergency services up close” is the motto on Saturday (May 30th) at the Hünfeld Blue Light Day in the city center. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the emergency services – from the DRK to the fire department and the police – will present themselves and provide insights into their work with activities and demonstrations.
Shopping is possible in participating stores until 5 p.m. This is also the case on Friday (July 3rd) when City Marketing invites you to the Long Night. Live music on various stages, the best supply of delicacies for the palate and lots of good mood are the focus of this evening. Even the youngest culture fans get their money's worth in the Hünfeld summer.
With the “Fairytale and Colorful” series, children’s events are once again taking place in the town hall halls. On Friday (June 12th) from 3 p.m. Hoffmann's puppet stage from Schlitz will be hosting the “Enchanted Princess”. On Friday (July 10th) from 3 p.m., the children's songwriter Ferri and his ensemble will come to the town hall.
At the town hall there will be a performance by the Red Zebra Theater with the “Frog Queen” on Friday (August 14th) at 3 p.m. And then during the summer holidays there is the XXL sandpit for the children, where they can dig and play to their heart's content. Parents can relax and sunbathe with a cool drink in one of the beach chairs or deck chairs by the sandpit.
Still partying? And hungry? Then for all party fans who don't care about the extra pounds on their hips, there's the Schmackofatz Festival from July 31st to August 2nd in the city center. Over the three days, food lovers can feast on a variety of culinary delights and enjoy the best atmosphere.
If you still don't have enough entertainment in the Hünfeld city center, you can even go to the cinema every now and then: On Thursday (August 20th) from 9 p.m. at the Hünfeld open-air cinema in the courtyard of the Modern Art Museum, you can sit back and immerse yourself in the film kingdom under the starry sky in the warm Hünfeld summer air.
