Completely overwhelmed after “Magic Moment”.30 points and quarterfinals?! Ross Antony “never in his life” expected this
Ross Antony didn't expect this when he started his “Let's Dance” journey.
But it is true! The singer made it to the emotional “Magic Moments” show on “Let’s Dance”. Together with Mariia Maksina, Ross not only danced one of the most moving dances of the evening, but also received the perfect score. He explains in the video above why this was completely unimaginable for the 51-year-old at the beginning.
Ross Antony dedicated this emotional dance to his late father
Even before the performance, Ross Antony's nervousness is clearly noticeable. Because: His “Magic Moment” is his late father Denis Catterallwho died in February 2017 at the age of 77 after a serious illness as a result of Parkinson's and cancer. A dance that pushes him to his emotional limits. Because: The pain is still deep. After all, Ross was on the plane on his way to see him when he received the news of his father's death.
That's why the singer struggled with letting go for many years. And that's exactly what he found particularly difficult during this dance: “Of course it was special today because it was for my dad. And letting go was actually very difficult for me during the dance. But I had Mariia by my side. She really took me along and this trip was definitely worth it.”
Mariia Maksina and Ross Antony experience their first 30-point moment
Professional dancer Mariia Maksina is also completely emotional after the dance: “It was my magic moment with you.”
When the jury finally awards the top rating, both of them can hardly believe their luck. “Our first 30 points together,” says Mariia happily. Ross adds: “Well, I never thought in my life that I would get this far. Or that we would get 30 points at some point.”

Ross Antony is visibly moved after his dance.

For Ross, the evaluation is a very special confirmation after weeks of hard work. “It’s really the cream on top,” he says, visibly moved. But one thing was particularly important to him: making Mariia proud. “She’s the one I really want to convince with my dance,” explains Ross. Mariia replies emotionally: “I'm proud because he tells me: 'I want to make you proud'. And he's done that before. But today you've outdone yourself.”
